CranioSacral Therapy (CST)

Gentle support for calmer bodies, easier feeding, and deeper connection.

Why We Offer CST at LCE?

Craniosacral Therapy has become an essential part of the care we provide. Over the years, we’ve seen that when a baby or mother is carrying tension—whether from pregnancy, birth, feeding challenges, or everyday stress—it can affect everything from latch and milk transfer to sleep, digestion, and emotional regulation.

"CST gives the body a chance to soften, reset, and find ease again. It’s gentle. It’s deeply supportive. And for many families, it brings meaningful change."

Elizabeth, Founder of Lactation Care with Elizabeth (est. 2017)

What Is CranioSacral Therapy?

CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a light-touch, hands-on therapy that helps the body release tension and restore balance. Using soft contact on the head, face, neck, spine, and lower back, the practitioner “listens” for areas that feel tight or restricted and supports the body as it unwinds.

How CST Supports Your Family

General Benefits

  • Feeding challenges

  • Poor latch or shallow latch

  • Tension from birth experiences (fast, long, assisted, or unexpected)

  • Fussiness, colic-like symptoms, or difficulty settling

  • Body tightness or asymmetry (preferential turning, arching, stiffness)

  • Reflux or digestive discomfort

  • Jaw, tongue, or facial tension (including babies with ties)

  • Sleep challenges

  • Postpartum overwhelm, stress, or physical tension

Even without a specific concern, many families choose CST simply because it helps them feel more at ease, connected, and supported.

Babies

  • Softening tension patterns from pregnancy or birth

  • Improving feeding comfort and milk transfer

  • Supporting oral function (jaw, tongue, cheeks)

  • Encouraging smoother movement and nervous system regulation

  • Helping babies settle, sleep, and feed with more ease

The work is incredibly gentle—often babies sleep, yawn, stretch, or nuzzle. Parents are always part of the session, and babies remain fully clothed.

Moms

  • Neck, shoulder, or back tension

  • Stress and emotional regulation

  • Pelvic tension or birth-related strain

  • Sleep difficulties

  • Nervous system overwhelm

  • Reconnection with your own body and breath

CST for mothers focuses on restoring physical and emotional balance after pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum transition.

Many mothers find CST grounding, restorative, and deeply healing—especially when paired with lactation support.

Combined Mom & Baby Sessions

Although sessions can be had individually, some of the most transformative work happens when we support both mother and baby together.

In these sessions, we:

  • Work with the mother first—helping her body relax and release tension.

  • Then place baby on or near the mother and unwind baby’s tension patterns.

  • Support reconnection between parent and child, especially after a difficult birth or feeding journey.

A calmer baby, a more grounded mother, and a more harmonious feeding relationship.
